G3-qualified engineer for Bristol unvented cylinders with 8 years' experience

Unvented cylinder servicing and repairs. G3 compliant installation checks. Clear records after every visit.

What makes us stand out

We check the safety details properly

Unvented cylinders depend on controls that must work correctly. We inspect the parts that protect your system, not just the obvious fault.

You get answers, not vague guesses

Discharge through the tundish or uneven hot water usually points to a more profound issue. We trace the source of the problem before recommending a repair.

The paperwork stays clear and useful

You should know what was tested and what was replaced. We leave you with service information you can keep with the cylinder records.

Keep your hot water system safe

Our G3 servicing and repair support covers unvented hot water cylinders, with careful checks of the controls and safety devices that protect your system. Beat Them Leaks Plumbing inspects the cylinder, pipework, fittings, expansion provision, pressure-reducing valve, inlet controls, temperature and pressure relief devices, tundish, discharge pipework, thermostats, thermal cut-outs and accessible immersion heaters. We also check for leaks, corrosion, poor recovery and unusual noise before testing system operation.

We can investigate water passing through the tundish, inconsistent hot water, poor flow, slow reheating, leaks and failed controls. Repairs use suitable manufacturer-approved or compatible components. Follow the manufacturer's service schedule and warranty conditions, and keep service records with your cylinder documents. If hot water is discharging, switch off the heat source if safe and contact a suitably qualified engineer. Never cap the discharge pipe, block the tundish or adjust a safety valve yourself.

Enjoy powerful hot water at home

An unvented cylinder takes its supply directly from the cold water main, so no loft storage tank is needed. Where the incoming supply is suitable, it can provide strong mains-pressure flow to several outlets. Before installation, we assess water pressure and flow, household demand, cylinder size, reheat performance, available space, heat source and the discharge pipework route.

Installation includes the cylinder, inlet controls, expansion provision, safety valves, primary and hot water pipework, tundish, compliant discharge route, thermostats and overheat protection. We then fill, test and commission the system before providing a clear handover. G3 work is controlled building work, so the installation must be completed by someone with the required competence and notified or certified through the appropriate Building Regulations route.

Heating solutions tailored to your home

Beat Them Leaks Plumbing can install and integrate suitable electric boilers, unvented cylinders, immersion heaters, conventional boilers and heat pumps according to your property's requirements. Electric boilers can be a practical option for homes without mains gas, while an unvented cylinder can work with suitable boilers, immersion heaters or heat pumps. Flexible cylinder sizes and installation locations make it easier to match the system to your home.

If you are considering an energy-efficiency upgrade, grants may be available depending on your property, system and eligibility. We can discuss suitable options and help you understand the practical requirements before you commit. Safety devices and discharge pipework are never omitted, altered or obstructed, and you will receive guidance on ongoing maintenance and the documents to keep for future servicing and warranty purposes.
